LS-ADI is an organization that puts an emphasis on two main issues: democratization and pluralism and inclusive Islam. The foundation regards the two main issues as very important issues to be tackled for the pursuant of modern Indonesia . The issues are elaborated into three main agendas: religion and democracy, globalization and debt and militarism. The agendas are implemented into several activities such as publishing bulletin (Jum’at Bulletin), establishing mosque network and giving advocacy to people. Other activities include training for students, advocacy on anti terrorism and military law and providing cheap education for street children.

The foundation which is backed by 60 activists has established an alliance with other NGOs such as Ikatan Remaja Masjid (IRMA)/ The Mosque Youth Organization on Jakarta (12 IRMA), Institut Studi Arus Informasi (ISAI) Institute for the Studies on Free Flow of Information , Koalisi Anti Utang (KAU)/ Anti-Debt Coalition, Koalisi untuk Keselamatan Masyarakat Sipil/ Coalition for Civil Society Safety, Koalisi Anti Penindasan Buruh (KAPB)/ Coalition Against the Suppression of Labors, Lakpesdam NU, IRM (Ikatan Remaja Muhammadiyah)/ The Muhammadiyah Youth Organization, PII (Pelajar Islam Indonesia)/Indonesian Islamic Students, Imparsial, Kontras or Commission for Disappearances and Victims of Violence , IKOHI (Ikatan Orang Hilang Indonesia)/ Indonesian Association of Families of the Disappeared , LMND (Liga Mahasiswa Nasional Demokrat), IMM (Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah)/ Muhammadiyah Students Association, FNPBI (Front Nasional Perjuangan Buruh Indonesia)/ The Indonesian National Front for Labor Struggle.

Apart from lack of qualified human resources, the foundation also being suffered by a lack of financing and therefore if the foundation receives an offer of funding, it will use it to improve quality of human resources and update infrastructure facilities.
