LK3 is a non governmental organization which is concerned with three main problems facing Islamic community; widespread poverty among Islamic community rural areas, lack of interest of people on Islamic studies and third, lack of actions from the society to strengthen civilian supremacy.
The main issues are elaborated into several agendas: Empowering farmers which are marginalized by development process, strengthening pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) network to increase its role in the process of social transformation and promoting new Islamic thinking.
The agendas are implemented into several action programs such as providing advocacy to the people, routine dialogue on religious (every month), publishing alternative media and journal for pesantren. Other activities include discussion on book written by local writers. The aim of the discussion is to give appreciation to the local writers. The NGO is also active in encouraging parents to enroll their children at early age.
In executing its programs, the NGO which is staffed by 40 people, has extensive relation with other NGOs and religious organizations such as Yayasan Duta Awam, Harian Banjarmasin Post, Yayasan Cakrawala Hijau Indonesia, Walhi, Aliansi Meratus, Jarak, Dian Interfidei, Gereja Kalimantan, Evangelis Kalimantan, Yakoma, STT GKE and Imparsial.

Therefore if there is an offer of funding it will use it to improve quality of human resources and upgrade infrastructure. |
